Candi Sewu (Java, Indonesia) is a big an 8^th century Buddhist complex of over 250 shrines. Most of them are now in ruins. The proximity of Hindu Prambanan temples (less than 1 km) suggests that the followers of Buddhism and Hinduism lived in harmony at a time when these temples were created.
