Financial District in Singapore is exactly like other such quarters in many cities around the world. Glass and steel simply dominate in architecture. Luckily, the Boat Quay - the two- and three-story historical shophouses along the bank of Singapore River - was preserved. This is a reminder of the times when this area was occupied by traders and laborers.
