One of the beaches in Sint Maarten (the Dutch part of the island of Saint Martin) has become famous for its remarkable proximity to the airport. Some people come here to take photographs of landing planes, others to feel on their bodies the strong air stream from jet engines. You do not come to Maho Beach to relax on the sand in a tropical setting. It is about noise and the experience of being hit by a jet blast during the takeoff.
