It was a five-hour drive from Las Peñitas and we were in San Juan del Sur, the coastal town of on the Pacific Ocean. This is Nicaragua’s most popular vacation spot. Despite Covid, a lot of visitors come here. Foreign tourists are easily recognizable here, Canadians dominate. We stayed on the hill on the other side of the bay in a house guarded 24/7.

What a view! Waves touching the rocks below, the endless horizon and postcard sunsets. It was a lazy time for us, spent observing fishing vessels and other boats. Three days passed quickly but we left the dream villa without hesitation. We missed the adventure.
