The Queen's Hamlet is a retreat in the park of the Versailles built for Marie Antoinette in 1783. Small, rustic style buildings are in contrast with Palace of Versailles. We can find there a farmhouse, a dairy and a barn. Each building is decorated with a garden and flowers. The hamlet was a real farm, fully managed by a farmer appointed by the Queen. There were vegetable gardens and animals raised on this farm.
