It is an amazing land in central Turkey mainly known for the unique landscape. The region has not only exceptional natural wonders characterized by fairy chimneys, but also rich history. The first Christian communities in Cappadocia formed in the 2th century. Anchorites began to inhabit the cells hewn in the rocks in the 4th century.
Cappadocia contains several underground cities. Hidden under the surface, the extensive network of tunnels was used as the protection against invaders for centuries.
