The largest island of the Seychelles, Mahé, is home to 90% of the country's population. The island nation's capital, Victoria, is not very interesting, but what makes this island worth visiting is the coast. Beautiful, hidden and deserted coves are waiting here to be discovered.

Pitcher Plant

Among the hills above the capital of Victoria, we walked the Trois Freres Trail to see unique insectivorous orchids. This plant has a mechanism for catching prey into a deep cavity filled with digestive fluid. The local soil is acidic, so the Pitcher Plantextracts nutrients and minerals from the insects, which it attracts, catches and digests.
