Bell Tower

This Shinto shrine-mausoleum built in Nikko in 1634 is consecrated to three human kami (deities). Tosho-gu preserves also Buddhism temple structures like pagoda, and bell tower. This complex is far from simple elegance of classic Japanese taste. It is massive, covered with gold and generally over decorated. The beauty of this shrine lies in details, in charm of carvings and multicolor.
