Salt Lake City

Salt Lake City lies in the northern part of Utah in the USA at the feet of surrounding Wasatch Mountain Range that rise to more than 3,300 meters /11,000 feet. It was founded in 1847 by Brigham Young who led pioneers seeking an escape from persecution. The city is the present-day headquarters of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints also known as the Mormons. Salt Lake City's Temple square is the center of the Mormon world. This is a place where their first temple was built - today, the Salt Lake’s biggest attraction. Unfortunately, for those outside the circle of members of the church entrance to the temple is prohibited.
